July

We have done a few fun things these past couple of weeks.  Here are some pictures to enjoy!

The boys enjoying our 4th of July Fireworks

Zayne showing off his shiner.  He got this while I was away at girls camp.  I thought it was fitting with the bandana and boxing gloves.

Quentin decided that he really wanted to hike to the "Y". Him and I headed out at 6 am and this is him excited to see the "Y"

This is about half way up the trail

sitting at the top of the "Y" having a great time

Quentin wanted to hike to the top, then the middle, then the bottom.  He wanted a picture of the whole "Y"

We went to the Hogel Zoo this week.  It was kind of a let down with not to many animals out.  But the remodel is looking great and will hopefully make the Zoo more worth seeing.

Luckily the Zoo has a dinosaur attraction right now or it definitely would not have been worth going.

Cyrus is always willing to pose for a picture.  Such a cute kid.

Measuring up.  This is a tradition with our boys to take a picture here.

Of course, T-Rex.  Zayne was not happy about being by this dinosaur for so long.

We have also been swimming a lot this summer and hopefully I will remember to take the camera with us some time.

Girls Camp

I spent this past week at girls camp and had a lot of fun.  It was a great spiritual week and a great chance to get to know the girls more.  Girls camp has always been entertaining and tiring.  I feel like I am still trying to catch up on my sleep a week later.
Our Stake theme was We Beleaf and our ward picked the Crimson King Maple with our value Integrity.  Hense the color purple in our outfits.
I was nicknamed Sister Splits because I can do the splits and Sister Ninja because I was apparently always hiding in the shadows and threatening to attack when they wouldn't get moving.  I quite like the nicknames, but doing the splits for people got quite tiring and I ended up pulling a muscle the last time time I went down.  That made for a really fun next couple of days.
Sister Garbett and I also got picked to be in the leader canoe race and didn't loose.  It was quite the workout though and I know that was part of the reason I was sore the next couple of days, besides the many nights sleeping on the floor, hikes, and many other activities.
The Young Women in our ward are quite fun to be with and all get along so well.  It is so nice to be in a ward where all of the young women enjoy being together.
We had a tree of life experience that was really cool, especially the girls all humming hymns before and after the experience.  The spirit was definitely there.  We also had a value walk, where our YCL's were all wearing a value color and shared an experience in their lives that went with that value.  We did this at night and only used our lanterns we made as our light.   It was a great experience.  We also had our usual singing in the trees, devotionals, gifts I see in you, and of course testimony meeting that were all a wonderful part of camp.
I learned 3 new active games as well that really got us going and sang lots and lots of fun camp songs.
I got a ton of pictures, but will only post a few.

Sister Garbett and I near the finish line.  I love how large the life jackets make us look.  I'm really not that big at all.

One of the YW (Carrie) and I.  Can you tell how tired I am?

Kelsie and Carrie.  They got a hold of my camera and had some fun. These 2 girls are a blast to be around.

Family Reunion in Oregon

We have spent the last week at a family reunion with all of the Mangum family in Oregon.
These first two pictures however are from the Mangum family reunion that was held the Saturday before we left with all of my grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
As you can tell, we had a hole bunch of blow-up toys and such for the kids to do.  As well as a picture scavenger hunt and minute-to-win-it games.  We had a lot of fun and enjoyed spending time with family.
These next two pictures are of Cyrus and Zayne being pirates around the home before we headed in the car on our vacation. I thought they were really cute and couldn't resist posting.

On our way to Oregon to be with family, we stopped at the Portland Zoo.  It was really fun to see all of the different animals and take the train ride.  On the train ride, Zayne fell asleep.  The train ride was a scenic ride through the forest greenery area.  It lasted about 20 minutes.

Justin really wanted me to do this and was surprised when I did it.

These next couple of pictures are at the Newport Aquarium in Oregon.  The boys jumped when this sea lion came right by them.  It was pretty funny.

Quentin was playing one of the minute-to-win-it games are the beach house in Oregon.  Justin has video of most of the games we played.  So if anyone wants video, let me know.

Cyrus with Grandma Mangum watching the games.  Soooo cute

These next two pictures are of the boys at the pizza place we went to with Justin's friends in Corvallis, OR

These next two pictures are of the boys at our Corvallis Oregon hotel.  This river and path were just outside our hotel.  It was a nice walk and break.
Sun set from the beach house in Oregon

These two bald eagle landed on the beach and hung around for a bit where we were staying. Justin was in heaven seeing these.

More from the Zoo.  These last few pictures were all taken from Justin's phone.

The Hemingway and Wyatt family built this sand sculpture during our sand castle building contest.

We've been spending a lot of time at parks all over Utah and Salt Lake County lately while we wait for Justin at his doctor appointments.  Here are my three boys making silly posses.
Cyrus coming through the tunnel

Quentin coming down the slide

Cyrus came so fast down his slide that this is when the picture took.  We thought it was pretty fun.

Zayne loves to pose and climb.  Here is proof of that.

Quentin doing his favorite thing at the parks.  Monkey bars or climbing.
We have also been doing a lot of chalk drawings.   You should see my driveway and the monsters they have drawn.  We got together with some friends and the boys helped decorate their sidewalks as well.

Another favorite past time is jumping on the trampoline.  No it is not snowing.  That is the cotton that our wonderful shade tree is putting off right now.  Despite the great shade we get, that tree won't be there come winter.
I went with the Young Women to Bridal Veil Falls last Wednesday.  We hiked up to the first falls and had fun.

We have been keeping busy already this summer and look forward to some fun family vacations that are coming up this next week.
