Christmas Fun

As you can see we finally got the boys to the Mall to see Santa Clause. Of course it was on the 23rd of December when we finally made it there, but they were way excited to see him. Even Cyrus did well talking to him and telling him what he wanted for Christmas.

Cyrus loved his chips Chirstmas Day. Hey, what ever keeps them happy right?

The boys also got quite a few games which they enjoyed playing. It was especially nice to have Justin around to play with.

On Christmas Eve we went to Angela's grandparents where the boys got to play as the 3 wise-men in the nativity along with their cousin Wesley.

Justin's Grandma and Grandpa Grattan were also in town for Christmas and the boys loved seeing them. They especially loved playing with their dogs. They keeping asking for one of their own, but it will be a while before that happens if their mother gets her way.

The boys were so excited Christmas morning and seemed to be very happy with what they received. I guess Santa must have gotten their Christmas letters. They also surprised their parents with sleeping in until 8. That was a very nice Christmas gift to their parents who were awake and ready to open presents before they were.

All around we had a great relaxing Christmas with plenty of food and fun.

Snow Play

The boys have had a lot of fun this year in the snow. They are both finally old enough to play and stay warm and then let me know if they are getting to cold. It has also been fun for Angela to go out and play with them. She enjoys a new type of workout to do. The hardest part for her right now is bending over and she is constantly reminded of that with every kick to the ribs from the little boy inside of her.

The boys have made a couple of new friends in the area. Seth being one of them. He seems to enjoy coming over and laughing and running crazy with the boys. They really had a lot of fun in the snow and look forward to more opportunities to do it again through out this snowy season.

Decorating for Christmas

We got all of our holiday decorations out the day after Thanksgiving and had a blast putting them up together. We did however wait a while to put our ornaments on. We were having company over with plenty of young kids and we didn't want the temptation there.

The boys are getting very excited about Christmas and are literally counting down the days until Christmas. We had to create an advent calendar this year for Quentin. He kept thinking that since we were in December then Christmas would be that first day. He is finally figuring out that we still have some days to go, but looks forward to ripping another chain off of the link. He was also given this really cool 12 days of Christmas nativity picture, where he gets to open a new envelope each day with a new thing to add to his nativity. He wakes each morning excited to open another envelope to see what he gets to do today.

Cyrus seems to be understanding a little bit more each day as well of what Christmas is and what is involved in it. It is so fun to see him realize what is going to happen and to get so excited about it.

Yesterday we were given the opportunity to do some shopping for some boys in our ward. It was so fun to have the boys wander the store looking for the perfect gift to give them. When we mentioned giving gifts to others in need, they got so excited and couldn't wait to go shopping. Every day they would ask, "Can we go buy the gift today mom." So we had a great time doing this and were excited to teach our kids the importance of giving and helping others in need. We hope to do this every year with them.

We also just got plenty of snow today and I will hopefully have some fun pictures to put up for you soon. The boys had a lot of fun making a snowman and a big fort.

Thanksgiving fun

So I am a little late in getting our Thanksgiving photos up since it is almost Christmas. But things have been a bit crazy and busy around here.
We had a lot of fun at Justin's parents and the boys got to play with their second cousins.
Their aunt Jena is all about doing crafts and got the kids well involved in it. They made the fun candy turkeys that you see here and then she helped them all make fun hats to wear. The boys did really well with dinner and were in pretty good spirits even with missing nap time.
We played plenty of games and relaxed as much as we possibly could with crazy energetic kids.

Playing in the leaves.

The boys and I had a lot of fun raking up the leaves and jumping in. We have a lot of mature trees and lots of leaves to clean up at our new home. It makes for a lot of work, but a lot of opportunity to do more fun things. The boys have asked to do this many times since.

Cyrus is becoming quite the poser and Quentin enjoys the action photos.

It's another boy!!!

Well, if you haven't heard the news, we are having another boy. I am trying to follow in my mother's foot steps to see how many boys I can get before I get a girl. J/K I know I couldn't handle doing that not knowing how many kids I would have to have to get my girl. Depending on how things go with this one we may just adopt a girl when we are ready for another. Which obviously will be some time from now.

We are very excited to have another one. All of the boys, that includes Justin, look forward to out numbering their mother once again.

If you have any ideas, suggestions, thoughts, on a name for this little one, we would love to hear them.

Our due date is March 22. However, I will be having a C-section at 37 weeks to prevent things from getting too complicated like last time. This puts my due date about March 1st. I do hope to wait until March to have the baby to prevent any opportunities of having the baby on my birthday. I am all about giving kids their own birthdays.

All is well with the baby. He is looking healthy and strong. I have still be a little on the nauseated side, however, I haven't had much time to think about it. Life is good and we are all happy and doing well.

Quentin's Kindergarten Pics.

So Quentin got his school pictures done this past month and I thought they turned out pretty good. He hasn't received his class picture yet, but we hope to get that soon. I still can't believe I have a kid in school.

I figured I better put up a new picture of Cyrus as well. However, I hope to get a more professional looking one done soon for him. We were going to take him to the schools open picture times to get his done, but that was right in the middle of nap time and I don't know about you, but you don't mess with nap time if you don't have to.

Hope you enjoy.

Halloween 2008

Halloween 2008 was very fun for he boys. However, I just realized I didn't get any individual pictures of the boys this year. I guess I will have to re-dress them up and take some more pictures. I'm sure they won't mind.
As you can see Quentin was an Army guy which was nice since we had most of the stuff on hand already. Cyrus wanted to be a dinosaur. But not just any dino. He had to be T-Rex. I had to specially order his online since no one seemed to carry that specific costume.

We had the boys Grand parents over for dinner and then strolled around the new neighborhood. They seemed to have the hang of trick-or-treating after a few homes. Even Cyrus was running up to the doors without mom or dad in tow, except for when his bucket was getting to heavy for him.

The boys seems to really like handing out the candy to the kids at the door though. I almost think they liked that more then trick-or-treating themselves.

Sugar Cookie decorating/mess.

So we had a very fun and eventful October. The boys decided they wanted to make Sugar Cookies. Of course that means lots of attention from mommy and lots of cleaning up afterwards. However, we had a really fun time. I found that it was easiest to make the dough the day before and then re-fridgerate it. That way the next day it was like playing with play dough and the boys were able to make the shapes they wanted without them falling apart. They had a lot of fun and keep asking to do it again. I guess I will have to give in and do it again some time.

The boys also liked dressing in their white shirts and matching ties. Cyrus thought it was pretty cool to look just like his big brother. Here are some cute pictures of them.

Our Cedar City Trip

So our family finally got the opportunity to take some time away from work and school and get a family outing in. We were able to go see Brian and Audrey down in Cedar City. It was so nice to get away and yet not quite long enough. We had a great time spending Saturday with Brian, Audrey, and Katelyn. They were great host and we hope to get out and see them again.

While there we spent most of our time at the park or in the pool. The pool wasn't quite as warm as we were hoping for, but it was so nice to enjoy the water again. We stayed in the Abby Inn which was a great place for us. The first night wasn't so restful, but the next night was much better. I think we were all tired from the days events and full from the yummy Ice Cream the Brian and fam treated us to.

It was a nice warm weekend and the travel went well. The boys enjoyed their movies while Justin and I got to actually engage in some adult conversation. We don't get that opportunity to often. So over all we had a nice time and hope to take some more time off together as a family.

On a side note. Justin and I have been put to work in our new ward. Justin is the second counselor in the Sunday School Presidency and will do a great job there. I have been put in the Young Women's Presidency as the First Counselor. I am scared and excited all at the same time. It is already taking up a lot of family time, but the kids and Justin have been a great support. I'm excited to get to know the girls and take on the challenges of fellowshipping some other girls as well. Hopefully all will go well.

Where did our summer go?

Summer has come and gone and so has our family. We were finally able to move from our home in Eagle Mountain and get closer to Justin's work in Provo. We found a nice home in a great neighborhood in Orem and are loving it.

The best part is that Quentin can walk right out the back gate to school each day. He seems to love being able to do that. Quentin started school on August 25th and has enjoyed every minute of it. Yes he does complain at times of being bored, but has since made friends and doesnt' care about boredum as much. Quentin is learning how to read and doing well. When he puts his mind to it he really takes off with any new task he is given.
Quentin is also very creative and loves building things. His new passion is playing a game called Spore. He loves building the creatures and homes that they live in and then playing them in the game. Of course he doesn't actually play the game much, he would rather build the creatures and homes for them.

He also loves playing Mario Kart on the WII. He is getting pretty good at it and loves to play with his mom, because in his terms "Mom you suck, play on the other team" I think he really enjoys beating the pants off of me. In fact, we just played for Family Night and I was voted off the red team and put on the blue team so that they could have a better chance of winning the race.

Cyrus is also enjoying and hating Quentin being at school. He loves his time with just mom and all of the toys to himself. But he also gets bored of mom and looks forward to Quentin being home to run around with.

Cyrus to is growing in many ways. I can't believe how skinny he has gotten and tall. I'm afraid both of my boys are going to out grow me quicker then I thought possible. Cyrus loves to read and build stuff like his older brother. However, Cyrus is still my boy who loves balls. He can spot a ball out of no where. He also loves being out doors, which has helped out a lot in our new home. Even though the inside was completely remodeled, the outside needs quite a bit of work. There are many things needing to be ripped out and trimmed back and the boys have loved helping out. Cyrus also loves to jump on the trampoline and play in the sand box. We have a rule before we go inside. After playing in the sand you have to jump on the trampoline and get all of sand off of your body and clothes.

It has definitely been fun being a mom even through the many challenges that I am faced with each and every day.

Justin is loving his new job and the fact that we are so close. The people at his work seem to be treating him well and appreciate him and all that he does for them. In many ways it has been a great move for him.

I am keeping busy as a first time soccer mom, a first time mother of a child in school, a son heading into his 3 year old stage, yard work, and trying to stay in shape and eat well. Don't know how I do the last one. It is definitely easy to eat poorly on the go. Hopefully life will slow up a bit as we head into the Winter months and we will get back into a more homely routine.

It is about time.

So I hate to say it, but my little sister inspired me to get in gear and get some pictures out there for the family to see. Way to go Camille. We do have all of our pictures available for viewing at http://justinhead.com/pictures/v/justin_family/ but I know that this might be easier for some of you to check things out and enjoy.

Our family is growing in many ways and we are enjoying every minute of it. Quentin is preparing for Kindergarten and is more then ready. So is his mother. Cyrus is doing his best to keep up with his brother and has the bumps and bruises to prove it. This summer we plan to do lots and lots of swimming with the cousins and hope to go camping a lot.
